My name is Allyson Kellar I live in Texas. I am married to my great husband, Ross and have 3 sons: Dilyn 25, Sean 25 and Zach 27. I also have 3 four-legged kids: PeeWee-Boston Terrier she’s 13; Beretta-Boxer Mix she’s 10 and Patrick-Dachshund he’s 8! They are the loves of my life! I work full time as a Nurse Case-manager for a big practice in Houston. I am the President of DFID and I started this group because I know what it’s like to need help when you have a terminally ill Dachshund. My baby boy Jax Louis passed 1/18/19 from CHF in my arms and I started this group to be able to give back in his name.

I am Married to my wonderful husband Josh and have a 9-year-old daughter Hailey and a 20 year old step-daughter, Lexus. I work full time as a Human Resources Manager. I have 2 dachshunds, Odin who is 6 months, Phantom who is 2 and I just lost my sweet girl Mya who was 10 to CHF. I became a part of this group because I know what it is like to feel helpless when your pet is diagnosed with a terminal illness. I had some wonderful people help me with Bear so he could happily live out the last of his 18 months with us. I am so honored to be a part of such a wonderful group! In my spare time I love being with my family, my Dachshunds, gardening and a lot of it is spent building this group as I am passionate about helping as many dachshunds as we can.

My name is Karen Barnett. I have been married to my amazing husband, Curtis, for almost 25 years. We have a 22-year-old college senior, Collin. I have two Dachshunds - Charlie is our Piebald, puppy mill survivor. He is 5. Chloe is our newest rescue and she is 4 and very Red! I have had Dachshunds in my life since I was a small child so this organization is perfect for me to be involved with. We lost our Molly to heart failure in March of 2017 - it was not expected. Our sweet Buddy lost his battle to CHF in August of 2017. I met Kelly and became close to her during her precious Bear’s fight with CHF. Medical expenses for our fur babies can be devastating and I love that this organization helps so many.

My name is Rachelle Manke and I am honored to be Director of Marketing for Dachshund Friends In Deed. I have a passion for helping animals and have a special place in my heart for dachshunds. I have two doxies of my own at home, Moose (10) and Gertie (5 months). I live in Wisconsin with my husband and daughter. I received my Doctorate degree in 2014 from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and, currently, I am working as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for an independent local practice. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, traveling, and crafting.
